A doctorate in literature and a trained Kathak dancer, Dr. Ulka Mayur is a versatile artist. She has been working as a storyteller for over ten years, presenting folklores, myths, sufi tradition stories, contemporary tales and original stories using elements of theatre, music and dance. Her storytelling performances for children and adults have been staged at many eminent educational institutions,  libraries, museums, art galleries as well as art and literary festivals.

 

As a theatre and digital media creator, Ulka is dedicated to creating soulful and thought-provoking productions that engage audiences on a deeper level. Her work strives to inspire and challenge audiences, and she believe in the power of storytelling to bring people together and encourage meaningful dialogue.

 

She has directed music videos, digital content as well as has written shows for networks such as STAR and SONY India. Due to her extensive experience in research, writing and direction, Ulka has been commissioned by many festivals and organisations to design and present customised performances.

 

She is the co-founder of Story Circus, a company that does a wide range of work in production and language services. She also runs a platform called Tadka-e-Zindagi to give a stage to upcoming artists. She is the founder and festival director of Athah Story Festival.

 

Ulka is widely praised by media houses and admired by her peers. She has won the Udgam Women Achiever's award as well as the Special Achievement Award by the Vishwa Hindi Akadmi.
